A club with many faces
The association “Kulturküche Aalen eV” is committed to the concerns, interests and needs of people from different backgrounds.
With cultural, communicative and social offers, the Kulturküche Aalen eV promotes social dialogue and supports the people and groups involved in a partnership relationship. This is stated in the statutes of the Kulturküche, which was founded as an association on October 3, 2000.

The colourful diversity of Aalen
Since 2011, the Kulturküche has been cooking delicacies from all over the world with Aalen residents from different cultures, who not only present their country in culinary terms, but also culturally and politically. Our three cookbooks have been created so far. If you are curious about international recipes, new preparation methods and interesting conversations with Aalen residents from different backgrounds, then join in! The intercultural cooking meetings take place once a month from October to March in the Bohlschule educational center in Aalen.

Encounters with needle and thread
The sewing café has been in the community accommodation on Ulmer Strasse since February 2016. Every two weeks, on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., volunteer women offer refugees the opportunity to alter clothes and sew simple items. Coffee, tea and cake are also offered and people are invited to have a little chat. Many women take up the offer, stop by, shorten a pair of trousers or drink a cup of coffee. Particularly skilled seamstresses sometimes even make a dress using the donated sewing machines and fabrics.

Excursions, lectures, festivals and more
Our association offers opportunities for encounters and exchanges throughout the year in various long-term projects. In addition, the Kulturküche also travels to different locations with different activities. We organize trips with refugees, take part in the International Festival, the Intercultural Week and other events in Aalen and the surrounding area.
